Condensation, mould and musty odours are common problems in cold spaces where the temperature fluctuates throughout the year. Garages, holiday homes, boats, caravans and storage rooms often have high humidity levels, whilst the temperature is too low for many standard dehumidifiers to work effectively.
For these environments, you need a dehumidifier designed for low temperatures that can keep humidity under control all year round.
Wood’s sorption dehumidifiers are designed to create a drier and more comfortable climate, even in spaces where standard condensation dehumidifiers struggle to perform.

Dehumidifiers for cold spacesWhen the temperature fluctuates, condensation forms on cold surfaces. If the humidity is high for prolonged periods, this can lead to mould, rust and unpleasant odours.
Desiccant dehumidifiers are designed to work effectively even when the temperature approaches 0°C and are therefore well suited to garages, holiday homes, boats and other cold spaces. Wood’s SW series works effectively down to +2°C, so this model is also well suited to lower temperatures.
A dehumidifier can keep the humidity stable even when the house is empty.
A musty smell is often caused by high humidity, which allows mould and microorganisms to grow. By dehumidifying the air, you reduce the risk of both odours and damp damage.
Desiccant dehumidifiers work effectively even at low temperatures and are therefore best suited to cold spaces. Condensation dehumidifiers are usually most effective in heated environments.
