Wood’s was founded by Bert (W.C.) Wood, a Canadian engineer in the back of a Toronto candy store after losing his job during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Little did he realize that this one-person workshop where he developed tools and appliances would pave the way to becoming one of the world’s most trusted household brands.
Fast forward 90 years, and our products are still characterized by their high quality, reliability, enhanced capacity, and lowest possible energy consumption. This reputation has helped us earn several awards and, most importantly, our customers’ trust. As a Swedish-owned company today, we have become one of the early adopters of products using HFC-free refrigerants. We continually strive to remain at the forefront of innovative and sustainable solutions that maintain the E.U.’s highest standards.
Our product range includes dehumidifiers, humidifiers, air conditioners, air purifiers, air quality monitors, and ozone generators aimed at consumers and businesses. Many accessories and replacement parts, like our filters, are also manufactured by us. Because of this, our quality control allows us to offer extended warranties on many of our products. – Some, up to 10 years!

THE EARLY YEARS
1930: WC Wood inc. is created in Guelph Canada by Wilbert Copeland Wood (1896 – 1987).
1950: production of one of the first electrical dehumidifier in the world under the Wood’s brand.
THE AIR PURIFICATION ROOTS
1970: ELFI, the air purifier business, is founded in the Swedish town of Linköping.
THE EUROPEAN DEVELOPMENT
1994: launch of Wood’s dehumidifiers in Sweden.
2005: Creation of TES Scandinavia AB and Wood’s is distributed in 8 countries in Europe.
2008: TES Scandinavia becomes the exclusive European Wood’s representative.
2013: TES Scandinavia becomes the sole owner of the Wood’s brand.
2013: Wood’s introduces a complementary range of Wood’s dehumidifiers made in China.
THE ACCELERATION
2014: TES Scandinavia acquires 100% of the shares of Elfi (“made in Sweden” air purifiers).
2015: Launch of the first Wood’s air purifier.
2015: acquisition of the Norway distributor. First country after Sweden where Wood’s is sold direct to retail.
DEEPER EUROPEAN ROOTS
2018: move of the production of Wood’s dehumidifiers from Canada to Mariestad in Sweden. Introduction of new products with eco-friendly gas.
2019: launch of Wood’s branded air conditioners
2019: the companies is renamed from TES Scandinavia to Woods Sweden AB.
2020: Wood’s TES Sweden Ab acquires Swema Airmaster AB (“made in Sweden” Ozone generators).
2020: Wood’s goes direct to retail in Denmark.
INNOVATION AND NEW DISTRIBUTION
2020: Launch of Wood’s branded ozone generators “made in Sweden”.
2021: Launch of the first electronic dehumidifier “made in Sweden”.
2021: Wood’s goes direct to retail in Finland.
2021: acquisition of the Wood’s French distributor to go direct to retail in France.
2021: distribution for Wood’s branded products reaches 28 countries with a launch in Korea.
