Wood’s AC Cortina has again been named best in test by Aftonbladet (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024) and in addition, for the sixth year in a row, it has received the award 5 Plus in Aftonbladet’s large test of portable AC / air conditioning.
Of the eleven portable ACs tested, the AC Cortina received full marks (5 Plus) and is the clear winner.
Aftonbladet also tested Wood’s AC Milan 9K and Wood’s AC Venezia 18K, which also received awards. AC Milan 9K received 5 Plus and became this year’s “TOP MODEL”. AC Venezia was awarded 4 Plus and the “CLEARS LARGE SPACE” award.

Review:
Wood’s Cortina has been redesigned to be significantly quieter than before. 53.5 decibels at top speed is one of the lowest levels in the test. And it matters when three decibels is a doubling of sound power. And when you drive it at its lowest speed, the noise level drops all the way down to 49.2 decibels. That’s certainly more than the 25-30 decibels we normally consider quiet in bedrooms, but low for a portable AC. Cortina has good cooling capacity and airflow. It is easy to use both with and without the app. Provides the most performance/least noise for the money.”

Review:
One problem with portable air conditioners is that the motor is in the AC, which is in the room to be cooled. This means that it makes noise. Sometimes so much so that it can be hard to watch TV without turning it up, or hard to sleep. But the Milan from Woods (headquartered in Alingsås), is one of the quietest in the test. That’s worth a lot. Not least as it also manages to cool bedrooms and even most living rooms. Its sibling Cortina has won our tests several times. Milan is a tough competitor, but it can’t handle as large areas and isn’t quite as quiet.
Review: Woods Venezia is intended for slightly larger areas. It should be able to cool a room of up to 50 square meters. To do that, it needs a big motor, which in turn means that it makes a little more noise than several of the other air conditioners in the test. But if you have large rooms, or perhaps a modern ‘functional’ house with large floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s a good option. For cooling, it can produce close to 700 cubic meters of airflow per hour. But for smaller rooms, it is probably too space-consuming and costs more than many other appliances that can handle such smaller rooms at least as well. Has very powerful motor and cooling capacity.
