Moisture in crawl spaces is a very common problem. High humidity can cause mould, unpleasant odours and, in the worst case, damage to the foundation of the house. Maintaining a relative humidity of around 50% reduces the risk of moisture problems and ensures a stable climate. Wood’s DSC series is specially designed for crawl spaces and combines high capacity with strong airflow to reach and remove moisture even in hard-to-reach corners. The DSC series starts and stops as needed to maintain relative humidity around 50%.

1. Seal the valves and any cavities so that unnecessary moisture cannot enter. It is also a good idea to cover the ground with ground cloth or plastic.
2. Position the dehumidifier so that it creates circulation. Often as centrally as possible.
3. Then lay a hose to drain the condensation water into a well. If there is no well, then make a stone box for drainage:
Dig a hole 20–30 cm deep. Fill it with macadam and lead down the water hose, 2–3 decimetres in diameter is sufficient.
Then keep an eye on the humidity level using a hygrometer. The DSC95P also has a wired display with a hygrometer so you can monitor the humidity level from the entrance to the crawl space.
